Privacy policy
Your CV and your job search stay on your computer. This page says exactly what leaves it, and to whom.

No server of our own
JobDesk has no backend and no analytics, and you need no account to use it. Your profile, the information read from your CV, your saved jobs, their status and your settings are stored locally in your browser and are never uploaded to us.
Your CV
When you add a CV, the file is read on your computer. JobDesk keeps only what it reads from it (roles, education, skills and languages) and the file name. It also keeps the CV's text, to check which of a listing's requirements your CV shows. It does not send the file or its text anywhere. Where Chrome offers its built-in on-device AI, JobDesk may use it to read the CV more accurately; this also runs on your computer.
CVs and letters you add to a job
If you add the CV or motivation letter you send for a job, the file is stored in your browser's local database on this computer. It is never uploaded. It is included in a backup only if you choose to include it, and it is deleted when you remove the job or the file.
Pages JobDesk reads
JobDesk reads the job listing you open on jobs.ch, jobup.ch, Indeed and LinkedIn, and on company career sites, so it can show the JobDesk panel next to it. On other pages it only checks, on your computer, whether the page is a job listing; if it is not, JobDesk does nothing and keeps nothing. Nothing from the pages you visit is sent anywhere.
The CV builder
If you create a CV with the CV builder, what you enter (including an optional photo) is stored in your browser on this computer. The PDF and Word files are created on your computer and saved where you choose. Nothing you enter is uploaded; only the text you type in the address field is sent to the Swiss federal address search (see below) to suggest addresses.
Public services
To work out commutes and find public reviews of employers, JobDesk sends only the information each service needs:
| Service | What is sent | When |
|---|---|---|
| transport.opendata.ch | Your home address and the job's location | To calculate a public transport commute, when you open or save a job |
| api3.geo.admin.ch | What you type in the address field, and your home and workplace addresses | While you enter your address, and for bike or car commutes |
| routing.openstreetmap.de | The coordinates of your home and of the workplace | For bike or car commutes, if you choose them |
| jobs.ch | The employer's name, or the jobs.ch company page linked in the ad | To look up public reviews of the employer of a job you saved |
| kununu.com, indeed.com | The employer's name | If jobs.ch has no reviews for the employer. Your browser makes this request like a normal visit, so these sites may see their own cookies if you use them. |
Links such as "Search on jobs.ch" open the job board with a search term only when you click them. Not every employer has public reviews, so a rating is not always shown.
Buying JobDesk Full
Payments for JobDesk Full are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and its payment provider Stripe. If you buy, you enter your email address and payment details on their pages; JobDesk never sees your card details. Until you open the payment page or restore a purchase, nothing is sent to ExtensionPay. After that, JobDesk asks ExtensionPay at most once a day whether Full is active, using a random key for this installation. Your CV, profile and saved jobs are never sent.
Backups and exports
Backups and the RAV list are files you create yourself. They are saved where you choose and are not sent anywhere by JobDesk.
What we never do
- We do not sell or share your data.
- We do not use your data for anything other than helping you with your job search.
- We do not use your data to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not load or run code from remote servers.
Deleting your data
Remove a job in the dashboard to delete it. Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything JobDesk has stored.
