Privacy policy

Everything stays on your computer. This page says exactly what leaves it, and to whom.

No server of our own

FlatDesk has no backend, no account and no analytics. Your profile, your saved flats, your documents and your cover letters are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage and IndexedDB) and are never uploaded anywhere.

Public Swiss services

To place a saved flat on a map, find its municipality, and work out travel times, FlatDesk sends coordinates and addresses only — never your name, income or documents — to:

• geo.admin.ch (map tiles, address lookup, municipality)
• transport.opendata.ch (public transport travel times)
• overpass-api.de (distances to everyday amenities)

These requests happen only when you save a flat, move its pin, or change your own places — never on a plain page view.

Payment (optional premium)

If you choose to buy the optional premium tier, ExtensionPay and Stripe process the payment. They receive your email address to identify the purchase, and whatever payment details you enter on Stripe's own checkout page. FlatDesk never receives or stores your card number or other payment details.

What we never do

• We do not sell or share your data with third parties beyond the approved uses above.
• We do not use your data for anything unrelated to helping you find a flat.
• We do not use your data to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
